My hope is that BOFW will highlight and expand the voice of black perfumers and creators. I'd love to see a summit on how our community can impact mainstream fragrance industry. Additionally, I'd love to see more partnerships in the fashion, beauty and art associations.
I see BOFW as an organic evolution of fragrance wearers and makers interested in diversity, equity and inclusivity and I’m always looking forward to collaborations emphasizing these areas. I hope that by connecting what I’ve established with BlackPerfumers, more people will be motivated to seek Black-owned fragrance brands at their local mainstream and niche shops, and inspired to share what they know about Black-owned brands with fragrance reps and boutique owners so that more can get on shelves and we can start seeing industry dollars positively impact more Black founders.
In my opinion, BOFW can contribute to fostering diversity and inclusivity within the fragrance community by providing a platform for underrepresented voices to be heard and celebrated. Through collaborations, partnerships, and community initiatives, BOFW can help bridge the gap and create a more equitable and inclusive landscape for all fragrance enthusiasts and professionals.
As a journalist, I feel it’s a disservice when people are not informed about what’s going on in their communities. My joy is being able to shine a light on examples of excellence that may not have gotten attention. Black perfumers are elevating the art of fragrance, and it’s time for the world to know who they are.
My hope is that BOFW bring light and awareness to so many amazing fragrances houses all across the world. Looking forward to an increase in partnerships, collaborations, conversations of diversity on marketing and business in the Black Community. Having a diverse, eclectic and international Fragrance wardrobe makes this fragrance journey exciting. There's not only a need for diversity in life with people, but in a perfume collection as well.
